Remember, the emptiness that Buddha is calling shunyata, the emptiness Upanishads calling bliss, the emptiness that Kakua sang through the flute, the emptiness that Joshu was teaching for forty years, and the emptiness which I am here just before you, is not a negative state. It is not really emptiness. It is called emptiness because the ego doesn’t exist there. It is called emptiness because the mind doesn’t exist there. It is called emptiness because you don’t exist there. It is because of you – you are no longer there, that’s why it is called emptiness. Otherwise, it is the greatest, the most positive state. It is full, overflowing with the divine, with the total, with the whole.

Θυμήσου, η κενότητα που ο Βούδας καλεί Σουνιάτα, η κενότητα που οι Ουπανισάδες ονομάζουν ευλογία, η κενότητα που ο Κακούα τραγουδά στο φλάουτο, η κενότητα που ο Τζοσού διδάσκει για σαράντα χρόνια, και η κενότητα που εγώ είμαι ακριβώς μπροστά σου, δεν είναι μια αρνητική κατάσταση. Λέγεται κενότητα επειδή το εγώ δεν υπάρχει εκεί. Λέγεται κενότητα επειδή το μυαλό δεν υπάρχει εκεί. Λέγεται κενότητα επειδή εσύ δεν υπάρχεις εκεί. Είναι εξαιτίας σου – εσύ δεν είσαι πια εκεί , γι’αυτό ονομάζεται κενότητα. Αλλιώς είναι η σπουδαιότερη, η ποιό θετική κατάσταση. Είναι γεμάτη με το θεικό ,το όλο, το απόλυτο.
