Natural Presence

In his book Natural Presence, Haris Kakarouhas offers a redefinition of our relationship with reality as an antidote to the ongoing crisis. His landscapes and portraits explore the ecology of humankind and the natural environment, while at the same time taking us on a voyage of self-discovery beyond the constructed identities of today. As a result of his personal search for human truth, Natural Presence links people with nature and nature with people in a relationship that is essentially one of co-existence.

On this photographic journey, the stillness and mystery of the person reflect a state of existence in which, as Kakarouhas himself says, bodies and emotions are linked beyond any philosophical idea or concept, while the human gaze expresses a self-aware interiority.

This series was created in spiritual communities and national parks around the globe the last fifteen years.

Ο Χάρης Κακαρούχας, στο βιβλίο, «Natural Presence» προτείνει έναν επαναπροσδιορισμό της σχέσης μας με την πραγματικότητα ως αντίδοτο στη συνεχιζόμενη κρίση. Τα τοπία και οι προσωπογραφίες του διερευνούν την οικολογία του ανθρώπινου και φυσικού περιβάλλοντος, ενώ ταυτόχρονα μας μυούν σ’ ένα ταξίδι αυτογνωσίας πέρα από τις κατασκευασμένες ταυτότητες της εποχής. Απόρροια της προσωπικής του αναζήτησης για την ανθρώπινη αλήθεια, το βιβλίο «Natural Presence» συνδέει τα πρόσωπα με τη φύση και τη φύση με τα πρόσωπα σε μια σχέση ουσιαστικής συνύπαρξης.

Σ’ αυτή τη φωτογραφική διαδρομή, η ησυχία και το μυστήριο των προσώπων αντικατοπτρίζουν μια «κατάσταση ύπαρξης», όπως επισημαίνει ο ίδιος, όπου σώμα και συναίσθημα συνδέονται πέρα από κάθε φιλοσοφική ιδέα ή εννοιολογική σύλληψη, ενώ το ανθρώπινο βλέμμα εκφράζει τη συνειδητοποιημένη εσωτερικότητα.
